Math Hands-on Activity: Money
Money is our final Math topic for the year.
During our recent 1F Fun Shop Activity, pupils had an opportunity to play the roles of buyer and seller. They set up their own little stalls to sell stationery. Pupils even priced their goods themselves. Given a certain fixed amount of coins, they needed to plan their purchases.
Pupils learnt to:
1) add up their total spending,
2) find out the amount left and
3) find out the amount of change due.
It was noisy but fun! Pupils can relate Math concepts to real life situations. The same concepts learnt are to be applied in dollars cases up to $100.
